Sara Abrams is the Vice President, Data Analytics and Quality Assurance at
Rochester RHIO. She joined Rochester RHIO in 2011, and has enjoyed more than a
decade of progressive technical experience with our community health information
exchange. She has previously held the roles of Technical Project Manager, Health
Researcher, Data Informatics Specialist and VP, Project Management & Analytics.
Sara also works with key clients on projects to harness the power of community
data within the health information exchange, which in turn supports analysis and
results for local, state, and federal health research as well as grants and programs.
She also provides facilitation and insight for Rochester RHIO’s Secondary Use
Committee, which reviews research projects using health data.
Sara is also skilled in managing complex technical projects. An experienced IT
Project Manager, Sara has managed several key IT projects through their entire
lifecycle, most recently the migration to Explore+, an advanced, patient query
portal for clinical users of Rochester RHIO. Sara has also handled other IT
interoperability projects with key clients in the greater Rochester community.
In addition, Sara’s decade of knowledge has made her a key contributor, leader and
knowledgeable employee at the company. She is often looked to as a resource and
also provides mentorship to other employees.
Previous to Rochester RHIO, Sara worked as a Research Associate for the Center for
Governmental Research and as a Data Manager at the Roswell Park Cancer
Institute. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Canisius College and
her Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the University at
Buffalo.
