Peter has been engaged in the work of public assistance for over five years. After exiting his work as a business owner in the private sector, he pivoted to community focused assistance at the county government level. His duties as an Eligibility Worker are founded in a strong knowledge of the processing and eligibility requirements of CalFresh, Medi-Cal and CalWORKs. From there Peter has branched into specialized Medi-Cal processing, CalFresh outreach and his work as liaison to Whole Person Care (WPC). His role as liaison has been to connect the Public Assistance division with the Whole Person Care team. Through WPC he supports the case managers working in the trenches in order to keep their clients on benefits, enroll eligible clients in the appropriate programs and ensure client’s are able to access the full range of programs to which they are eligible.
