Daniel J. Chavez is Executive Director of the Santa Cruz Health Information Organization (SCHIO) in Northern California, one of the longest-running HIEs in the nation. Previously, Dan joined San Diego HealthConnect as Executive Director in March 2013 with more than 30 years of health information technology experience. He has also held Senior Management positions with Independa, Payformance, Availity, and IBM. He holds a BA from San Jose State University and an MBA from Stanford University.
