Adam Giroux currently serves as the Program Director for Population Health and Quality at the Michigan Health Information Network (MiHIN), where he is responsible for the business development, delivery, and organization strategy for Population and Quality products and services. Prior to joining MiHIN, he served as the Director of Value Based Payment at Priority Health, the health plan arm of Spectrum Health, a large integrated health system in Michigan. In that role he led the strategy and development of advanced payment models (APMs) across both the Commercial and Government Program populations, including participation in Comprehensive Primary Care Plus (CPC+), Medicaid APMs, and State Innovation Model (SIM) Patient Centered Medical Home initiatives.
Entering the health care field with a degree in public health and desire to influence health outcomes at a population level, he quickly learned how difficult it was to make an impact without better access to the right information, at the right time, and right place. Adam gravitated to roles that placed him at the intersection of payers and providers, understanding that the path to better health outcomes required establishing stakeholder alignment around data sharing needs and value-based payment models. After spending over a decade in various roles on the health plan side, he joined the HIE space, which has provided the opportunity to partner with an even larger cross section of stakeholders who seek better information to help them in their efforts to realize better health outcomes. Adam has a Bachelor’s Degree from Hope College, and a Masters in Public Health from the University of Michigan.
